(Cold) immobilisation

Immobilisation is a known and approved technology that uses mineral binding agents (cement or cement substitutes), possibly augmented with additives, to create useful uses from rest streams.

The cement itself provides cohesion and will enclose any contaminations in a sustainable manner. Thus, a secondary building material has seen the light, that is used in groundwork and civic engineering projects, such as foundations for roads and land. Additives may be required to improve environmental properties. The binding agent ensures a coherent and compacted (i.e. virtually impermeable) building material that has a compressive strength specifically attuned to the specific use. Immobilisation achieves a saving on primary building materials and closes the material cycle. This benefits the environment and also presents costs savings.

The WTEP granulates that we produce are particularly suitable for this bound use and fulfil the required standards.

Our products have been certified in accordance with RPS 206, BS EN 13285, BS EN 13242, SWH 600 series

We market immobilized waste materials amongst others under the following brands:

  • StabiRock: a proprietary product of Rock Solid
  • SolarBase: a product that Rock Solid has developed together with NV Afvalzorg
More about our formularies

StabiRock

StabiRock is a freely usable building material that is made up of mineral rest streams for more  than 90%.

SolarBase

SolarBase is a long-lasting foundation for solar panels. Rock Solid has developed SolarBase together with NV Afvalzorg.

Our formularies

The formulary – the ratio between the WTEB granulate, any other secondary raw materials, binding agent and additives – is developed after a careful preliminary examination.
